Des Peres is a city in St. Louis County, MO. The population is approximately 8,370. Des Peres got its name from the River des Peres whose tributaries, Deer Creek and Two Mile Creek, ran through the town. The name “Des Pères” is a French term which means “of the Fathers”.

The Kirkwood Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce aims to increase business growth throughout the area through Development, Advocacy, Resources, and Education.

The Phantom Forest Conservation Area is 13 acre park in Des Peres. The land was formerly owned by Ray Moore, original illustrator for “The Phantom” comic strip, and his wife, Claire. After Moore died, his wife donated the land to the Missouri Department of Conservation and the park was named in his honor.

Des Peres Hospital was founded in 1948 with the goal of providing quality, personalized healthcare for the St. Louis area.
